Optional consent

You have the opportunity to give your consent for Aalborg University to process your personal data in a number of cases described below in “Consent for the processing of Personal Data” in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the Data Protection Regulation.

Your data will be continuously processed until you withdraw your consent. We do not process any more information about you or for any  purpose other than what you have consented to. It is optional for you to give your consent, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time. The consent cannot be withdrawn retroactively. Therefore, it will only apply to the future processing of your personal data. You can still participate in events even if you do not consent.

The purpose of processing your information

Your information is collected and processed by Alborg University to get the best possible overview of AAU’s contacts and partners and the relations between them in order to provide the optimal service for the surroundings beyond and across Aalborg University’s network.

Consent to use of personal data and general inquiries

I agree that Aalborg University may process and store the following personal data: Name, email address, telephone number, address, LinkedIn profile, place of employment, mentor/investor experience and areas of interest in a register.

Based on my personal data, Aalborg University may contact me via email or telephone regarding arrangements, events, network meetings, and relevant information related to cooperation at the university within areas such as entrepreneurship, research and product development, knowledge and business collaboration, teaching, and student cooperation. My data may also be used to process my application to become a mentor, screen my qualifications and professional experience, and match me with relevant startup teams. Aalborg University will facilitate communication with these teams, enabling them to contact me directly, and will register matches, follow up, and conduct evaluations of the program. In addition, I may be invited to participate in AAU Mentor or Investor related activities such as business panels, networking events, and other initiatives where my professional feedback is valuable.

How we store your information

We store your personal data as long as necessary in relation to the section “The purpose of procession your information” and in accordance with the existing legislation. Afterwards, we either delete, archive, or anonymize your personal data.

Your rights

When we process your personal data, you have a number of rights in accordance with the Data Protection Regulation. This means, i.a., that you have the right to have your data deleted and to data portability.

In certain cases, you have the right to access, retract, restrict, and object to our processing of the comprised personal data.

Complaints

We must – and wish to – follow the rules at all times. If you believe that we do not meet our responsibilities or that we are not processing your information in accordance with the legislation, you can file a complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency at dt@datatilsynet.dk.

However, we encourage you to contact us at AAU as well, as we will do whatever we can to accede to your complaint.
